How We Evaluate Products
We compare evidence, not marketing certainty. This page explains what our current labels and recommendations mean.
Product facts and merchant offers
A Product is the underlying item—such as its canonical name, brand, category, and verified model. An Offer is a merchant-specific destination with price, availability, currency, and verification time. Keeping them separate prevents a temporary commercial fact from becoming permanent product identity.
Sources and verification
We prioritize manufacturer information and current merchant evidence. Where available, records retain source links and retrieval or verification timestamps. A timestamp describes when evidence was observed, not a promise that it remains unchanged.
Unknown means unknown
If reliable price, availability, model, or commercial evidence is missing, we show it as unknown or unavailable. We do not manufacture precision to complete a comparison.
How comparisons work
Comparison views use persisted known facts such as category, brand, active Offer count, known price, merchants, and availability. The guided Finder applies deterministic filters and simple fit rules from the needs you provide. It does not call AI and affiliate commission does not control the factual result.
Research versus hands-on testing
Current product pages are researched and compared from verified manufacturer and merchant sources. They are not hands-on test reviews. If hands-on testing is introduced, the specific page must say what was tested, how, and when.
Commercial relationships
Affiliate relationships do not guarantee inclusion, ranking, or recommendation. Sponsored content, if introduced later, must be clearly disclosed. Consumer fit, evidence, trade-offs and uncertainty come before commission.
